Yes, her birthday is the 26th of March, and she’ll be turning 20 this year. At this point YUI becomes a full adult in the eyes of modern Japanese society, I believe. Oricon Style interviewed her this week and she listed the top five things she wants to do when she turns 20. Now, the Japanese blogger who reported this tried to play a cruel joke on his/her readers by starting the list off with things like:
1. Drink!
2. Smoke!
And promptly seeing the rage he’d unwittingly (so it seems) kindled in the YUI fandom, he declared it to be a joke. Anyway, here’s the real Top 5 Things YUI Wants To Do When She Turns 20 List:
1. Get a driver’s license! (That’ll be expensive. )
2. Be kind to her parents! (Always good! )
3. Visit everybody! (Is this physically possible? We gaijin fans will definitely be left out. )
4. Build some sort of machine! (Okay…)
5. Continue putting one’s heart and soul into making and performing music! (Yay! )
Well, sounds good to me. Much better than the first list.
